Physical Reserve items are a separate collection of books, textbooks, and various media items that are placed on "reserve" for students by academic departments and/or individual instructors. They are available for students to use in the library only**. 

  • A current student ID MUST be presented for check out.
  • Reserve items check out for 2 hours only.
  • They may not be renewed and may not be placed on hold.
  • The LMC is not responsible for any assignments missed due to a lack of availability or missing Reserve items.
  • Reserve items are for library use only and may not leave the building.
    • If a Reserve item is not returned in a timely manner, the borrower will be charged a fee. Please refer to the MCCCD Libraries Borrowing Guidelines for information about fines and fees.

**E-Reserves/ Scanned textbook chapters: up to 3 chapters of your textbook may be available digitally in your Canvas course shell under the tab Library Resources. If you don't see any chapters there, ask your instructor about reaching out to the library, so we can add them. See our Textbooks & Reserves Services page for more info.
