The Library generally prohibits the use of cell phones in the building.  Recognizing that emergencies occur, patrons who use cell phones in light of the Library policy prohibiting cell phone use should:
  • turn cell phone ringers off or use a vibrate setting;
  • keep conversations short and speak quietly;
  • move out of the building or to a non-disruptive location to engage in long or repeated conversations.
Library patrons wishing to report inappropriate cell phone use may contact a library staff member.  Be aware that if another library user complains about individual cell phone use, the library staff is authorized to require the offending patron to discontinue the disruptive behavior or leave the building.

GCC personnel are permitted to use cell phones in all areas as needed.
