The GCC Libraries strive to provide a quiet, unsupervised atmosphere conducive for study and research for all library patrons.

Children may not be left unattended or unsupervised in the Library Media Center. Library staff cannot be responsible for unattended children or their safety. Children who are not registered in credit courses and are below the age of fourteen (14) years must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver and must be under appropriate supervision at all times. Therefore, Campus Security will be notified immediately if children are left unattended in the library.

Adults accompanying children are responsible for the children's behavior and are expected to monitor the children's actions whether or not other library users are directly or immediately affected. Parents or adult caregivers are responsible for any act of vandalism and costs of damages to the library resources or facilities, including, but not limited to books, computers, and furnishings.

The library collection of materials, except for the juvenile collection, is selected for adult, college-age individuals; the library is not responsible for the content that a child or young person may view or hear in books, periodicals, film/video/ audio media, or on internet sites.

Children may not use the computers in the Library Media Center unless they are registered in credit courses at GCC.
