VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) provides free, basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing for the community. Eligible participants include those with annual income less than $67,000, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and taxpayers with limited English who need assistance in preparing their own returns.
IRS-certified volunteers will be available on the SCC campus in the Business building lobby starting January 29 through April 14. Hours are 4pm to 7pm Mondays and Wednesdays and 9am to noon on Saturdays. Appointments are encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made at bit.ly/irs-vita-2025
Please share this with your students, friends, and family. See attached flyer for details on what to bring. IRS requires participants to bring Social Security cards and photo IDs to protect against identity theft.
If your income is between $67,000 and $84,000, the IRS also allows access to the VITA professional-grade software free of charge. VITA volunteers will help you navigate the program and answer tax questions that are within the scope of IRS training for our volunteers.
