GateWay does not charge fines on overdue items. However, if items are not returned within the grace period (28 days for books and 14 days for non-books such as DVDs), you will be billed for the lost items at the list price of the item. The items will be considered "Assumed Lost." Please return or renew items on time.
Borrower has 90 days from the assumed lost date to return lost material and have the debt reversed. After 90 days, lost items must be paid for whether returned or not. Refunds will not be issued for paid lost items if returned 90 days or more after the assumed lost date.
Payment may be made using cash, check, or credit card
The Library will remove the debt from the library record, upon presentation of the payment receipt at the Circulation desk.
Course Reserves (textbooks and calculators) are the exception. When Reserve items are 2 days past due, they will be considered Lost-Assumed and the borrower will be billed the cost of the Reserve items. Borrowers have 7 days from the assumed lost date to return overdue Reserve items and have the cost of the item reversed. After 7 days, previous payment for overdue Reserve items that are subsequently returned is not refundable.
